Debra Davis Wetzel

Mrs. Debra Davis Wetzel, age 68 of Middleburg, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023. A forty-year Clay County resident, she was born in Jacksonville to the late Ansel E. and Theda Mosley Davis. Mrs. Wetzel was a retired communications technician, having worked for Bellsouth for thirty years. She was a member of Clay Hill Baptist Church and loved serving others with no expectation of anything in return. She was devoted to her family and her little dog, Teddy. She treasured the time she spent shopping local flea markets with her best friend, Illene Carter. She is survived by her husband of forty seven years: Fred Wetzel; sons: Wayne Wetzel and Chris (April) Wetzel, all of Middleburg; grandchildren: Christopher Michael Wetzel, Hagen Michael Lee Wetzel, Kaleb Davis and Deanna Davis; and brothers: Mike Davis of North Carolina and Jeff Davis of South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister: Terry Harris, and brothers: Buddy Davis and Eric Davis. Her family will honor her with a celebration of life at a later date.
