Mr. David Wayne Nelson Sr., age 59 of Seminole, Florida and formerly of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020. A native of Jacksonville, he was a Paxon High School graduate. Mr. Nelson was a long time asbestos worker in the shipbuilding industry and a member of Local 13 Labor Union. He enjoyed going fishing, was an avid Florida State Seminole fan, and also enjoyed watching movies, especially the John Wick films. He is survived by his mother: Christine Adcock of Orange Park; children: David W. Nelson Jr. of Seminole, Florida, Jessica (Tom) Kump of Orange Park, and Noah Nelson of Macclenny; grandchildren: Addison, Charity, and Logan; brother: Ricky (Heather) Nelson of Jacksonville; sisters: Ruby (Jim) Klimek of Summerville and Mary (Gator Shiver) Thompson of Jacksonville; nephews: Ricky Nelson Jr. and Scotty Nelson; niece: Audrey Thompson; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Clarence Eugene Nelson. A graveside service will be held 1:00pm, Friday, May 22, 2020 at Riverside Memorial Park, Jacksonville.
