Chester "C.A." Arthur Hunt Jr.

Mr. Chester Arthur "C.A." Hunt Jr., age 86 of Baldwin, passed away Monday, March 15, 2021. A lifelong Duval County resident, Mr. Hunt was born in Bryceville to the late Chester A. and Frances Higginbotham Hunt Sr. He was a graduate of Baldwin High School and a United States Army veteran. He was a long-time truck driver and retired after thirty-five years of employment with Winn Dixie Grocers. Mr. Hunt was an avid hunter and absolutely loved fox, deer and bear hunting with dogs. He was a founding member of the Baldwin Bay Hunting Club and was later affiliated with the River Bend and South Tarber Hunting Clubs. A man with a sense of humor, Mr. Hunt enjoyed joking and laughing with his family, friends, and the staff at Everybody's Restaurant where he was a regular customer. He is survived by his children: Jimmy Hunt of Fargo, GA, Stanley (Missy) Hunt of Jacksonville, and Ann (Karl) Jacobs of Baldwin; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of fifty-five years: Verna Hunt; son: Chester A. "Chet" Hunt III; brother: Albert Hunt; and sisters: Cornelia J. Greene and Helen Murray. Funeral services will be held at Brandy Branch Baptist Church, where he was a member, on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 11:00am with Pastor Deryle Adkison officiating. Burial will follow the service in Brandy Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7:00pm, Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the church.
