Charles E. Mooney

Mr. Charles Emory Mooney, age 83 of Jacksonville, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023. Born in Lyons, Georgia, the only child of the late Hubert E. Mooney and Linnie Lee Roberts, Mr. Mooney was a local resident for fifty-five years. He was a manager at Big Star Supermarket before becoming a marketing specialist at Peter Paul Cadbury and a food rep associated with Kellogg Company. Many years were spent setting up new food products in the local Publix stores. After retirement, he enjoyed keeping in touch with his former coworkers and extended family. Mr. Mooney was an avid NASCAR fan, as well as a Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Braves fan. He attended Westside Baptist Church for many years and loved his cats. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his children: Karen (Michael) Shiver of Buford, Georgia and Keith (Amanda) Mooney of Jacksonville; grandchildren: Alex (Shay) Shiver of Braselton, Georgia, Ali Shiver of Buford, Georgia, Bryce Mooney and Brooke Mooney, both of Jacksonville; and great granddaughter: Lynley Shiver. He was preceded in death by his parents. His family will celebrate his life at a later date. Warren Funeral Services of Baldwin is honored to serve the Mooney family.
