Carolyn Lavaughn Williams

Ms. Carolyn L. Williams, age 71 of Jacksonville, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020. Born in Jacksonville to the late Arthur L. and Myrtis Thomas Williams Sr., Ms. Williams was a lifelong resident. She was a faithful member of Otis Road Church of God where she enjoyed the fellowship of friends and other members. Ms. Williams loved spending time with her family and enjoyed cooking all their favorite meals. She loved crafts and decorating for holidays and was an avid Florida Gator fan. She is survived by her brothers: Arthur "Ted" (Sue) Williams and Robert Williams, both of Jacksonville; sisters: Mary (Bill) Sage, Linda Rikard, and Janet (Phil) McCargo, all of Jacksonville and Terry (Thomas) Braddock of Macclenny; her loving dog, Archie; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews and other family members and friends. Ms. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, her brother: Sylvester "Bud" Williams, and brother-in-law: David Rikard. A celebration of her life will be held 11am, Friday, November 13, 2020 at Otis Road Church of God with Pastor Stephen Thomas officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sellers Cemetery, Halsema Road, Jacksonville with Phillip Ray McCargo (honorary), Troy Hausler, Trevor Hausler, Chase McCargo, Trent Hausler, Matt Bennett, and Briar Noles serving as pallbearers. The family requests that donations be made to Otis Road Church of God in lieu of flowers.
