Candice Martin

Memorial Service for Rev. Candice "Candy" Martin will be held 3:00 P.M., August 23, 2007 at the United Methodist Church (51 South Chestnut Street, Baldwin, FL 32234) with Rev. Don Nichols and Rev. Tom Pope officiating. Candy was born May 14, 1949 in Arkansas City, KS, the daughter of the late Melvin W. Pemberton and the former Peggy L. Coon. She passed away in her home on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 following a lengthy illness. Candy was an Elder in Full Connection in the Florida Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. She was an educator before entering into the ministry full-time in 2005. She was active in the Emmaus Community and served as Lay Director. She was pastor of Baldwin United Methodist, in Baldwin, FL. In addition to her Husband of 37 years, Glen Martin, she leaves behind: Son, Jonathan (Chancie) Martin and their children Hunter, Braydon and Grace; Son, Jeremy (Patti) Martin and their children Corryne and Adrienne; Son, Justin Martin; Sister, Sandra Pemberton. Candy earned a Bachelor's degree from louisanna Tech and her Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theologial Seminary.
