Barbara Thomas

November 12, 1929 — February 27, 2015

A Celebration of Life will be held for Barbara Jane "Bobbye" Thomas (85) of Orange Park, Florida from 6-8 pm, Friday, March 6, 2015 in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home. The interment will be held 11am, March 9, 2015 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Miami, Florida. Bobbye was born on November 12, 1929 in Miami, Florida, daughter of the late Thomas Earl Hutt and the former Olga Florence Danielson. She passed away on February 27, 2015 in Orange Park, Florida. Her survivors include: three sons, Steve Thomas, Greg (Kabeth) Thomas and Bruce Thomas; two daughters, Sue Thomas Young and Leslie Thomas; seven grandchildren, Marley Thomas, Jaimie Thomas, Russell Young, Eryn Young, Sharon Johns, Marshall (Crystal) Thomas and Jesse (Ernie) Raulerson; two great grandchildren, Sadie Nell Raulerson and Max Larry Raulerson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald P Thomas. Bobbye was raised in Miami during the Great Depression and WWII. She attended FSU and wrote her sorority newsletter for years. She married Don, becoming a dedicated NAVY wife and mother. They raised five children while moving around the country. She took good care of Don during his long illness. Bobbye worked as a nutritionist and was an amazing textile artist. She was active, cheerful and remained in her home with help from family and friends. All were attracted by her talkative friendliness. We are thankful for our excellent upbringing and for her support of our family. She will be missed, but we are glad that she has gone to a better place. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to www.commongroundgriefcenter.org
