Ansel "Buddy" E. Davis Jr.

Mr. Ansel E. "Buddy" Davis Jr., age 63 of Clay Hill, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021. Born in Jacksonville to the late Ansel E. and Theda Moseley Davis Sr., Buddy was a Clay County resident the majority of his life. He was a ceramic tile setter and the owner of Davis Tile. He enjoyed singing and attending church and was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and working outside in his yard. Mr. Davis was a loving husband and father. He especially enjoyed babysitting and entertaining his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of thirty four years: Susan Davis; son: Mark Davis of Clay Hill; daughters: Kristi (Doug) Sheppard of Middleburg, Carly Netherland of Lake Asbury, and Ashley Hall of Orange Park; grandchildren: Briar, Kyle, Bailey, Chloe, Nate, Jennifer, and Sara; great grandchildren: Camden and Carter; brothers: Mike (Susan) Davis of North Carolina, Jeff (Lisa) Davis of South Carolina, and Eric (Jennifer) Davis of Starke; and sisters: Debbie (Fred) Wetzel of Clay Hill and Kim (Doug) Samples of Hastings. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister: Teri Harris. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
