Funeral services for Annie Ophelia Jacobs (83) of Jacksonville, Florida will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Old Plank Road Baptist Church with pastor Larry McGinley and bro. Garland Whaley officiating. The interment will immediately follow in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Jacobs was born on April 7, 1930, in Patterson, Georgia, daughter of the late John Arch Sapp and the former Allie Mae Carter. She passed away on November 1, 2013 following a brief illness. She is survived by: six daughters, Barbara (Harry) Pounds, Jean (Garland) Whaley, Annie (Wayne) Dill, Loretta (John) Sanford, Rene (Tony) Goodman and Teresa (Matt) Edison; three sons, Jerry (Phyllis) Jacobs, Donnie (Teresa) Jacobs and Kenneth Adams, Jr.; three sisters, Agnes (Grady) Strickland, Carolyn Dangerfield and Betty (John) Sekora; two brothers, James Sapp and J.R. (Dorothy) Sapp; sixteen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, numerous family and friends. Those serving as pallbearers include: Christopher Goodman, Richie Walden, Donnie Jacobs Jr., Marshal Jacobs, Bradley Sanford and Clayton Walden. She was preceded in death by: husband, Lester Jacobs; son, Ronnie Jacobs; granddaughter, Tammy Whaley; two great grandchildren, C.J. McClendon and Carl Pippins.
