Aleene Newmans Sweat

SWEAT- Funeral services for Rev. Aleene Sweat (88) of Baldwin, Florida will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Baldwin Church of God with Rev. Steve Thomas and Rev. Johnnie Anderson officiating. The interment will immediately follow in Manntown Cemetery, 8087 County Rd. 125, Glen St. Mary, Florida 32040. Ms. Sweat was born on March 23, 1929, daughter of the late James Newmans and the former Mattie Harris. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 15, 2017 after an extended illness. Born and raised in Baker county, Ms. Sweat went on to become a Church of God Evangelist and was a Pastor of Wesconnett Church of God and Baldwin Church of God. Some of her hobbies included tending to her rose garden and her love of coffee. She is survived by her loving son, Rev. Ronald (Samantha) Sweat, Sr.; five grandchildren, Ron (Rachel) Sweat Jr., Jonathan Sweat, Ryan (Aara) Sweat, Daniel Sweat and Evan Wilson; nine great grandchildren, April, Chloe, Emily, Michael, Serenity, Bentley, Cutler, Johnnie and Nevaeh; brothers, J.C Newmans, J.E Newmans and Darrow Newmans; sisters, Lvonnie Broxton and Bernice Burchfield; numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Johnnie Jackson Sweat; infant sons, William Sweat and James Sweat; sisters, Hazel Smith, Lois Griffith and Willo Mae Williams. Those serving as pallbearers include: Josh Collier, Freddy Smith, J.R McGuire, Keith Sullivan, Terry Qualls II and Allen Crews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Church.
