Mr. Henry Gary Griffin, age 73 of Callahan, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019. Mr. Griffin was born in Jacksonville to the late Henry F. and Marguerite G. Griffin. Upon graduating from Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, he pursued and obtained his pharmacy degree at the University of Florida. Having a kind and caring heart, Mr. Griffin served the Callahan community as the owner and pharmacist of Osteen’s Pharmacy for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling to historical sites. Being a University of Florida graduate, Mr. Griffin was an avid fan and supporter of the Florida Gators. He was a devoted family man who will be remembered as a wonderful protector of and provider for his family and his community. He lived his life with intentional purpose; simply, with humility, and a sweet spirit. He is survived by his sons: Edward Scott Griffin of Las Vegas, NV and Kenneth Lee (Angel) Griffin of Jacksonville; grandchildren: Brandon Griffin, Hannah Leigh Griffin, and Chalker Aaron Griffin; and sister: Phyllis Griffin of Tampa. He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty eight years: Elizabeth Griffin. Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Saturday, June 15, 2019 in the chapel at Prestwood Funeral Home, Baldwin, Florida with Mr. Griffin’s son: Kenneth Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery in Morven, Georgia at 2:00 PM.
